HOW TO FIX IT
Watch the laser unit spin
Power the robot on and watch the turret on top. Roborock's first instruction is exactly this: make sure the laser unit is spinning.
Rotate it gently by hand
If it is not spinning, turn the turret gently with your fingers, then restart the robot. That is Roborock's second and last step before support.
Clear the gap around the turret base
Power down and run a toothpick or cotton swab around the gap where the turret meets the body, pulling out hair, string and tape. iFixit's S5 guide uses the same tool to check the laser spins freely.
Move the robot to open floor
Get it out from under low furniture so nothing presses on the turret or the vertical bumper, then restart the clean.
